With the guidance of Slice, I was able to reset the flags on my EFI(disk0s1) partition.
I would like to be able to do a proper install and updates to Clover to the hidden EFI partition on my SSD The same thing happens if I run Multibeast (yes I check off UEFI load options only!) No files are created in the EFI partition. If I mount the disk0s1 EFI partition and open the root to EFI along with opening the root to the OSX, I only see files being added to the OSX root and as it creates an EFI folder with everything in it as Clover runs. Nothing I do can seem to get Multibeast 8.1 or Clover to load to the hidden EFI partition on my SSD OSX install (disk0s1) I also tried an older version of Clover for curiosity. I tried both the latest Multibeast 8.1 and the most recent versions of Clover. I booted everything using Uefi from both my F12 option and BIOS option - I don't Legacy bootĩ. I told Clover to install into the ssd OS X drive (I doubled and triple checked this)Ĩ. I did check off the box for loading Clover as uefiħ.
I reloaded my GA-Z97MX Gaming5 v6 firmwareĦ. I tried erasing just the EFI partition and changing the file structureĥ. I tried reformatting the drive using gparted and Disk Utility as was outlined in the guidesĤ. The hidden EFI partition exists on my SSD (disk0s1) OSX installģ. I have done this successfully many times with both Mavericks and Yosemite in the past using the Clover UEFI booloaderĢ. Does anyone have a solution to get it working properly?
I would like to have it so I can use clovers and multibeasts update feature properly. I can manually mount the EFI partition on my SSD (Disk0s1) and place all the clover files and my kexts there and get a proper uefi boot into OS X. I have seen that others have reported a similar issue but no one has had a solution as of yet. I reloaded my GA-Z97MX Gaming5 v6 firmware and Clover still won't update to the hidden EFI partition I tried reformatting the drive using gparted and reformat using Disk Utility and both Multibeast and Clover still won't do a proper UEFI load to the EFI partition (disk0s1) I was able to copy the EFI root folder to the EFI partition root and boot Into OSX using UEFI OSX boot Instead, each time it would create an EFI folder in the OS X root directoryħ. Neither installer could mount the EFI partition and place clover there. Both installers failed to complete uefi installation. This is where I ran into issues with both the Multibeast 8.1 and the most current Clover installers:Ħ. I rebooted with uefi USB into the ssd without issue and configured OS X I ran uefi boot of the USB and installed El Capitan on the ssd without issueĥ. I wiped my ssd drive using diskutil and repartitioned it as outlinedĤ. After repeated attempts, it finally placed clover on the usb stick.ģ. It kept failing to load the clover bootloader at the end for some reason. I wiped my old USB, reformated it and ran Unibeast 6.1.1 on my Macbook Air. I created a usb stick from the latest El Capitan. I did read all the install guides for my motherboard first (GA-Z97MX Gaming5)Ģ.
I decide to upgrade to El Capitan last week and wanted to do a clean vanilla install. I was recently running 10.10.x using clover updates without any issue.
I have been using Multibeast and switched to just a simple Clover install a few years ago so I could be dsdt free and have all my kexts loading from the EFI partition. Let's me first preface that I have been installing OS X since 10.6.0 Building a CustoMac Hackintosh: Buyer's Guide
